Around US$1.5 million worth of 29 Moonbirds non-fungible tokens (NFT) were stolen in a phishing scam on Wednesday.

- Moonbirds was also the center of a phishing attack in the first few days after launching in mid-April where scammers used hacked verified Twitter accounts to pose as official Moonbirds accounts.
- Scammers recently hacked the Twitter account of star NFT artist Mike Winkelmann (Beeple) to run a phishing scam that drained over US$72,000 worth of ETH.
