The crypto and non-fungible token (NFT) community organized a tribute for French NFT artist Alotta Money at the Cryptovoxels metaverse on March 5, two days after he lost his battle with cancer and a day after what would have been his 50th birthday.

  • Over 100 fans gathered at on the rooftop of The Voxel Hotel to dance on the virtual dance floor and share stories to celebrate Alotta’s life and birthday. 
  • “Even though I’ve been to many events in the metaverse, I’ve not experienced anything like that,” Yehudah Petscher, NFT relations strategist at NFT data aggregator CryptoSlam, told Forkast after attending the event.
  • “To those that think NFTs are just about money, this should be a lesson that the true power of [Web 3.0] is the ability for people to connect, build, and share in a decentralized way,” Petscher said.
