Football giant Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) today announced a multi-year partnership agreement with Hong Kong-based cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com that will see the exchange become the Parisian club’s official cryptocurrency platform partner.

  • PSG competes in Ligue 1, the top division of French football, and its star-studded team includes forwards Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar. The deal is the latest in the club’s forays into cryptocurrency. Last month, the club made headlines for including its $PSG Fan Tokens in the welcome package for its star Messi.
  • According to Crypto.com, the deal includes the release of exclusive non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on its NFT platform. A significant portion of the sponsorship fee will be paid using the cryptocurrency token CRO, Crypto.com said.

  • Founded in 2016, Crypto.com has been on a sports sponsorship spree in recent months, partnering with Formula 1, F1 team Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One, NHL team Montreal Canadiens, sports league Lega Serie A and martial arts company UFC.
