Benjamin Sauter defends clients in the cryptocurrency and commodity derivatives industries against government enforcements actions. He has represented companies and individuals in the crypto industry ranging from major exchanges to proprietary trading firms to company founders and executives. He is often deployed in a special-counsel role to enhance negotiation with regulators and prepare for contested litigation. He is also active in the asset recovery practice. Before joining Kobre & Kim, Sauter clerked for Judge Fortunato P. Benavides in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and for Chief Judge Sarah S. Vance in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. He received his JD cum laude from Harvard Law School.
