Indonesia is home to around 275 million people, and a study published by crypto exchange Gemini found that 41% of Indonesians between 18-75 with earnings over US$14,000 a year held digital assets. Blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis also put Indonesia in the top 20 of its global crypto adoption index.
At a time when countries around the world are competing to offer more diversity in their crypto sector, the Southeast Asian country could surprise everyone as Indonesians seem to be adopting it the fastest.
