Every other major platform has shipped a dedicated agent product this month. DevDay is the market's first real signal of whether OpenAI will treat agents as a platform play or an API extension.

Archipelo launched Salmon EVI as the first cryptographic protocol purpose-built to capture AI agent execution as signed, verifiable events. The launch arrives as the agent stack converges on a three-layer architecture: governance for permission, harnesses for defaults, and now verification for evidence.

AX is the kubectl-shaped interface. Agent Substrate is the infrastructure play. Together, they mark the opinionated-default pattern reaching the deepest layer in the agent stack.

At I/O 2026, Google introduced information agents, agentic booking, and agentic coding directly into Search — extending the opinionated-default pattern to over a billion users and rewriting the distribution playbook for autonomous agents.

Docker's president says containers aren't sufficient for agent isolation. The company that defined containers is now defining the post-container execution model for AI agents.

The CDN giant's Agents Week concludes with 25+ launches that complete the structural convergence – the same opinionated-default architecture cloud vendors and frameworks shipped this week is now embedded in the edge network.

LangChain's Interrupt 2026 announcements confirm that the opinionated-default agent architecture cloud vendors shipped this week is now the baseline for application frameworks, too.

Three different vendor classes shipped the same opinionated agent harness architecture in the same 48-hour window – and the 'build your own stack' era ended with it.

Meta's Sentinel architecture uses eBPF kernel hooks and credential surrogation to classify agent processes by data access — the first operating system-level security model built specifically for consumer AI agents.

The managed database provider launches Runtime and DataHub on open-source foundations, positioning cloud-agnostic data infrastructure as the horizontal alternative to hyperscaler lock-in for AI agent workloads.
