Vogue Singapore and Vogue Ukraine have listed a non-fungible token (NFT) collection “Fashion for Peace” on the OpenSea marketplace to raise funds for humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.

- The Fashion for Peace collection is an NFT collection curated by six Ukrainian fashion designers to showcase the nation’s culture through art, photos and illustrations.
- Proceeds from primary sales will go toward non-profit organization Save The Children, while royalties from secondary sales will also be donated to the charity.
- On Monday, Save The Children called on governments and organizations to step up efforts to protect an estimated 100,000 Ukrainian children at risk of permanent separation from family members, or falling victim to abuse, exploitation, trafficking and neglect, since Russia’s invasion.
- “With digital fashion and fashion NFTs they are a lot more accessible to a larger audience and having them on the blockchain allows the user to authenticate its origin and value,” Bettina Von Schlippe, publisher of Vogue Singapore, told Forkast. “This in turn reduces the barrier to participate, purchase and donate to a charity.”
- “With limitations presented by banks and charities to donate funds from overseas to help those in Ukraine, blockchain and crypto appeared as the seamless solution by charities and organizations that are looking to fundraise for the people of Ukraine,” Von Schlippe said.
- Ukraine has received various crypto donations worth over US$78 million at the press time.
