Binance and founder Changpeng Zhao are being sued by the US Commodities and Futures Trading Commission, or CFTC. The suit caught most of the market by surprise judging by price reactions. However, the action itself is just a part of a bigger chorus of enforcement actions this year.
Ripple was suied by the SEC late last year, Paxos faced SEC and New York State Department of Financial Services lawsuits over BUSD, and the SEC sent a wells notice to Coinbase earlier this week.
