Neobank Revolut looks to build its own crypto exchange

London-headquartered fintech startup Revolut is looking to build its own crypto exchange, according to a new job posting.

• The selected candidate will lead neobank Revolut’s “technical team to architect and build Revolut Crypto exchange,” the job posting says. The candidate will need experience in building order matching engines, like those used on crypto exchanges, it adds.

• Founded in 2015, Revolut reached a valuation of US$33 billion in a funding round earlier this year. In addition to banking and trading services, Revolut has been offering crypto buying and selling services since 2017. It currently supports over 50 digital assets and has 15 million individual and 500,000 business customers, according to its website.

• In September, a CoinDesk report claimed that Revolut is looking to launch an exchange token like BNB of Binance or WRX of Indian crypto exchange WazirX. The report matches with the latest job posting hinting that a crypto exchange is in the works.
