Dubai police are dropping a second round of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), as digital assets conform to their interests in innovation, security and communication. In a statement on their website, Dubai police claim to be the first government entity in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to create its own digital assets and the first police organization in the world to do so.

- The second edition will be launched during GITEX — a meeting platform for the technology industry — scheduled for October.
- The move is in line with the government’s growing interest in digital assets, as “NFT-related Information documented on a blockchain cannot be falsified or copied at all,” said Brigadier Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence at Dubai Police.
- The public will have the opportunity to own these digital assets for free after participating in Dubai Police social media platforms.
- As many as 22.91 million people worldwide registered interest in getting Dubai Police’s first NFT collection, which was released by the Dubai Police General Command during the second quarter of this year.
- Al Razooqi said Dubai Police received more than 7,000 direct messages from participants through its social media platforms.
- Participants were contacted to confirm digital wallet addresses, and those who met the requirements were shortlisted for a raffle draw. The 150 digital assets symbolize the force’s innovation, security and communication values, he said.
