It’s been two years since the inception of the Metaverse and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg called it the future of the internet at one point. But despite it’s young age, the ambition for it has undoubtedly waned, especially as the crypto contagion spread and economic conditions led to massive tech layoffs.
The consensus remains that we are still in the early stages of the technology, and as the crypto winter and global contractions continue, some would go as far as to say that the digital hype is dying.
Behind the headlines, however, Forkast was present at this year’s FOMO Asia Genesis Conference in Hong Kong and found that the Metaverse was still very much part of the bigger discussion.
