Singapore-based Brytehall is to co-host a new non-fungible token (NFT) art auction with bike manufacturer Specialized on Dec. 16, to sell an artwork of a bicycle named “enishi-E” created by Japanese artist Kosuke Masuda, both physically and digitally in an NFT.

- Kosuke described the bike to be auctioned as an “alive” one, for it has patina paintings of flowers, bamboo leaves, and river rocks on its frame, and the paintings continue to change over time.
- The auction for the bicycle and digital NFT is expected to start at a reserve price of US$50,000, from Dec. 9 to Dec. 16.
- Brytehall is the NFT arm of the enterprise Media Publishares, the publisher of Vogue, Esquire, Robb Report, and Buro in Southeast Asia. In September, Brytehall auctioned two digital covers of Vogue Singapore’s September issue in NFT.
- The combination of NFTs and artworks has boomed in 2021. CryptoPunks, Art Blocks and Bored Ape Yacht Club are the three most popular NFT art collections currently. The world’s largest NFT market, OpenSea, was recently criticized by its community members after floating the idea of an initial public offering.
