The NEM Group — creator of the NEM NIS1 and Symbol blockchain — today announced its entry into the non-fungible token market through a partnership with football legend Kenny Dalglish and current Manchester City player and English Premier League Champion Riyad Mahrez to create NFT sports collectibles on Symbol.

- The digital collectibles will feature key moments in the sports stars’ careers. NEM’s NFT line-up includes celebrated footballer and three-time Manager of the Year Sir Kenny Dalglish, who won the European Cup with Liverpool as a player twice and was the first Liverpool manager to win the league and cup double with Liverpool, as well as Algerian player Riyad Mahrez, African Footballer of the Year in 2019 and a key member of the current Manchester City team.
- In March, NEM launched the Symbol blockchain, an enterprise-grade blockchain designed to facilitate interoperability and tokenization. NEM enjoys strong support in Japan and has plans to grow its community in South Korea and China.
